Privacy policy
Nothing to disclose,
by design.
Effective July 12, 2026 · Applies to Basis for iOS
What Basis collects
Nothing. Basis has no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs, and no servers. The developer cannot see your data — there is no infrastructure that could.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter — income, categories, expenses, savings, receipt photos — is stored locally on your device in Apple's SwiftData store. It is included in your normal device backup (iCloud or local), which is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not by Basis.
What stays on device
- Receipt scanning runs Apple's on-device text recognition. Photos are processed and stored on your phone only.
- Face ID / passcode lock uses the system's LocalAuthentication — Basis never sees biometric data.
- Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
- CSV export creates a file that leaves your phone only when you choose to share it.
Changes
If a future version of Basis ever changes any of the above, this page and the App Store privacy label will be updated first, before that version ships.
